SBBC Info Sheet: Hang Tag Generations
Last Modified 4/10/2005A data consistency issue has been found in SBBC. It only affects users who ran the Data Update from 4/1/2005 or received and installed a CD from us with the Data Version listed as 2005.04.01. Affected users will have up to four sets of duplicate Hang Tag Generation records, one with and one without a Trademark symbol at the end of the name. For example, a user might now have a Zodiac(tm) tag, with the Trademark symbol at the end, and a Zodiac tag without the Trademark symbol. Please Note: Depending on your system settings the Trademark symbol may show as a plain vertical bar some places in SBBC.What if I did not run Data Update 2005.04.01 or install a CD with that Data Version on the label? This issue does not affect you. What should I do if I did run Data Update 2005.04.01 or I installed a CD with that Data Version on the label? Please follow the simple step-by-step instructions, below, to assure your data integrity. It should take approximately one or two minutes of your time.1. Open SBBC, click on the View menu and choose Hang Tag Generations.2. In the Hang Tag Generation window, use the arrow buttons to navigate to the Zodiac(tm) record, the one WITH the Trademark symbol at the end.3. Click the Delete button and then answer Yes to the prompt, "You are about to delete one record."4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 again to delete Classy(tm), Birthday Beanies(tm) and Beanie Baby of the Month(tm). In all cases, you will be deleting records with the Trademark symbols.Deleting these records will NOT affect your SBBC data in any other way. After deleting the four Hang Tag Generations listed above, you will be left with some records that still have a symbol, such as Jingle Beanies(tm) as well as many without the symbol. This is correct for now. In the future there may be an update that puts all the applicable Trademarks symbols into place without duplicating records. What should I do if I accidentally deleted a wrong Hang Tag Generation record in the steps above?Simply download the latest Data Update from our Web site and it will reinstate the deleted Hang Tag Generation records. Latest Data Update: www.simsys.com/downloads.html or, for our AOL users, http://members.aol.com/mbelove/What happens if I already ran Data Update 2005.04.01 or installed a CD with that Data Version on the label and I don't perform the steps above? If, in the lower portion of the Main Screen, you assign both Hang Tag Generations to different beanbags, for instance if you assign a Zodiac(tm) (with the symbol) to one or more beanbags and a Zodiac (without the symbol) to one or more beanbags ...1. Both Generations will be listed on the Simple Summary.2. Report filtering will be affected when filtering by Hang Tag Generation. You would have to run two reports: for example, one for Zodiac(tm) and one for Zodiac. These are the Hang Tag Generations that should be listed in your SBBC as of 4/10/2005:
